Pasadena’s 4th Annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Bazaar saw a steady flow of traffic on Wednesday, as shoppers passed through the Rotunda at City Hall to browse items with several vendors who had set up tables. Proceeds from the event will go to support programs at the Jackie Robinson Community Center, according to Linda Offray, the event organizer.

The ACLU Educates Community Members on Drones and NSA Surveillance

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) held a forum Tuesday night to discuss the details surrounding the National Security Agency (NSA) and its intrusion into the basic civil liberties enjoyed by U.S. citizens.

Topics of the night included data collection and the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), detention centers, drones, and several court cases involving these issues. A few dozen attendees listened and participated in the discussion at the Neighborhood Church in Pasadena. Continue reading

Junior League of Pasadena Needs Support to Meet Today’s Deadline

A Pasadena-based non-profit organization is in the final stages of an online competition, and currently about two hundred votes shy of third place.

The Junior League of Pasadena (JLP), an organization of women who volunteer in the community and participate in projects designed to improve quality of life in the San Gabriel Valley, has been reaching out to their membership and social media family throughout the past week to gain votes for LA Photo Party’s Annual Non-Profit Party Package Giveaway.
